Congratulations to the Classes of 2022 and 2023! Whether you graduated from The New School in December 2022 or are preparing to graduate in May 2023, we’re looking forward to celebrating the culmination of your hard work and dedication to your education here at The New School.
The New School’s 87th Annual University Commencement Ceremony will be held on Friday, May 19, 2023, at 11:30 a.m. EDT on the grounds of the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. All graduates must wear caps and gowns to participate. Please order your regalia by April 16th.
Prior to University Commencement, each of our prestigious colleges host special recognition ceremonies for their graduates. It is at these school ceremonies that students are recognized individually by name. Caps and Gowns are required for the Lang recognition ceremony. They are optional for SPE, COPA, NSSR, and Parsons recognition ceremonies, although students may choose to wear them. For more information about school ceremonies, please contact your school below:

In order to receive your diploma, make sure to update your official mailing address through my.newschool.edu Your address should be valid until May 31, 2023.
